The private finca

A finca is a self-contained country estate, usually with its own pool, gardens, and a handful of guest rooms, rented exclusively for your event. You get total privacy, no other guests, no shared spaces, and the freedom to shape the day almost entirely on your own terms.

The tradeoff is logistics: most fincas don't have enough rooms for a full guest list, so you're also coordinating nearby accommodation, transport, and often outside catering.

The boutique hotel or resort

A hotel wedding trades some of that intimacy for built-in infrastructure: enough rooms for your whole guest list, in-house catering, a dedicated events team, and often a spa for the days around the wedding itself. Full-property buyouts exist at the luxury end for couples who want hotel convenience without sharing the grounds.

This route tends to suit larger guest lists and couples who'd rather one team handle logistics than assemble vendors themselves.

A simple way to decide

If your guest list is under 60 and you want the wedding to feel like a private house party, a finca usually wins. If you're over 80 guests, want everyone under one roof, or want built-in hotel service, look toward a boutique hotel or a full buyout instead.
