Where the money actually goes
Venue rental or event fee is usually the first major line, ranging from roughly $800 a night at a modest private finca to $65,000+ a night for a full luxury-hotel buyout. Catering typically runs $60 to $460 per person depending on style and venue. Add flights, a multi-night guest stay, florals, photography, and a planner, and the full picture comes into focus fast.
One thing that surprises American couples: many Mallorca venues charge a separate event fee on top of the nightly accommodation rate, sometimes tiered by guest count. Always ask for the fully loaded number, not just the nightly rate.
Why it's often still cheaper than a comparable U.S. wedding
Set beside Napa Valley, the Hamptons, or Aspen, equivalent villas, catering, and service on Mallorca frequently cost less, airfare included. It's not that European weddings are inherently cheap; it's that American luxury wedding markets have simply outpaced most of the rest of the world.
